We look for the donor before we create one

The fastest way to clutter a database is to add a second record for every gift. We search your existing constituent records first. A confident match goes on the record you already have; when we can't find the donor, we create one with the details they gave you.

Updating the contact details of matched donors is your choice and is off by default. A question left blank never clears a field you already have.

The gift arrives split the way you split it

A donor gives $500 across three funds on your form. That becomes one gift with three splits, each mapped to the fund you chose in Blackbaud, along with your campaign and appeal. The payment method and transaction ID help your team reconcile it against Stripe.

Selling tickets or sponsorships? The amount paid and the deductible portion are recorded separately when they're different.

Recurring gifts arrive as recurring gifts

A monthly donor becomes a recurring commitment on the donor record. Each payment is linked to that commitment instead of showing up as an unrelated gift. Custom Donations collects the payment; Blackbaud does not charge the donor again.

Raiser's Edge NXT supports the recurring intervals we offer, including weekly. Blackbaud CRM does not have a weekly equivalent.

Event tickets land on the event

Choose an existing Blackbaud event for your giving form. The ticket buyer is registered on that event, with what they paid recorded against it rather than floating loose as a donation. In Raiser’s Edge NXT, you can also register individual guests.

Your form's questions, on the donor's record

Parish, chapter, member ID, or how a donor heard about you: match each form question to a field in your Blackbaud system once. The answers arrive with the donor record instead of waiting in a spreadsheet.

Bring your funds over without typing them

Pull the fund list from your Blackbaud system, choose the funds you want to raise money for, and decide which appear on your forms. They stay matched to the funds you already use; we do not create new funds, campaigns, or events in Blackbaud.

You can also choose an existing event and import its ticket types to sell on your giving form.
